Ann Conrad ’81 and Elizabeth Gourlay ’79: Recursive Threads

April 2 - May 1
Curated by Anthony Kirk
Artist Reception: April 9, 4 - 6 p.m.
Free and open to the public

Recursive Threads pairs the work of Ann Conrad ’81 and Elizabeth Gourlay ’79, artists whose connection includes Hotchkiss and a similar approach to constructing works of art. Both Conrad and Gourlay were mentored by Blanche Hoar, an instructor in the art program when they were students. Curator Anthony Kirk states that the exhibit title “pertains to the use of a procedure that can be applied repeatedly: how each artist assembles a network of shape, color, and line.” Kirk is a master printer and past guest of the Visual Art program.
